The Role

The Test Automation Team is the owner of all testing tools and is responsible for ensuring that the Test Team is provided with the right tools and support to perform their executions.

The Test Automation Engineer is the main driver of automation best practices amongst the testing team. The Test Automation Engineer is also a key stakeholder in the Software Development Life Cycle – testing the existing or newly developed products, and developing new and maintaining existing automated tests. The Test Automation Engineer assists and helps the developers with fast feedback about current problems in the product and communicates with internal stakeholders to provide a realistic picture of the product in development.

 

Responsibilities

·        Participate in the Software Development Life Cycle to automate test cases which allows Test Analysts to execute them and revise the results

·        Guide the testing team towards best practices in test automation

·        Deliver training to new joiners on automation tools

·        Prepare user-friendly documentation for all testing tools

·        Identify and discuss with the Test Automation Lead ways to simplify testing, automate processes and improve efficiencies

·        Own testing tools and be the point of reference for such tools

·        Test new features related to testing tools before launching such features in Production

·        Develop and maintain the automated test suites

·        Participate in the test script review process and assist the testing team during the test script design as necessary

·        Communicate with, assist and help developers and internal stakeholders

·        Report defects and follow up on their resolution

 

Requirements

Must Have:

·        Minimum of 2 years of experience in testing web-based applications & test automation development

·        Good understanding of the testing domain

·        Good knowledge of at least one programming language (preferably JavaScript)

·        Good knowledge of at least one of the standard test automation tools (preferably Cypress)

·        Experience in API testing

·        Good knowledge of building SQL queries

·        Critical thinking

·        Excellent communication skills

·        Proactive team player

·        A creative mindset

·        Fluency in written and spoken English

Good to Have:

·        Experience in using Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins

·        Experience using Git

·        Experience in working with Postman

·        Experience working in Scrum teams
