Financial Planning Analyst – Malta Office

Location : Malta

Basis : Full- Time

Reports to and assists the Financial Controller in preparing annual budgets, handling other budget reporting requirements, prepares / assists in preparation of necessary internal control measures and communication and assisting the finance team as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with Department Heads in preparing the annual income statement and resulting cash flow budgets
  • Provides variance analysis of actual vs budget for the group companies on a monthly basis
  • Roll forward of budgets by keeping budgets up to date on a quarterly basis (target)
  • Involved in cost reduction exercise/s
  • Assists in the preparation of annual financial statements
  • Cash flow – historic direct cashflows (actual banking movements) and forecasts
  • Assists in the finalizing of the monthly management accounts of some of the group companies, if needed
  • Assisting in preparation of quarterly board pack, including but not limited to, metrics section and Graphs/ Pie-Chart section
  • Preparing of quarterly, bi-annual, etc. forecasts
  • Communicating of such budgets to budget heads and on regular / quarterly basis match actual spend against actual
  • Assists in ad-hoc analysis and other value added reporting e.g. cost cutting exercises
  • Monitoring of various KPI’s on a regular basis
  • Assists the team in the monthly reporting as required
  • Assists the financial controller in checking POs against budget
  • Assists the financial controller in compiling the appropriate internal control measures as required
  • Involved in AGM / dividends distribution; preparation for advices/ warrants
  • Liaising with auditors and providing information / documentation as required
  • Preparing replies to questions raised by potential clients during RFP stage
  • Perform any other duties which may be assigned from time to time

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or direct experience related to the role
  • Be a fully qualified accountant with at least 3 year work experience
  • Have good knowledge of MS office, specifically Excel
  • Have experience using an accounting package
  • Compiling and submitting of Investment Tax Credit forms
  • Possess good communication skills, able to perform under pressure and have the ability to deal with and solve problems quickly and accurately
  • Experience in consultancy and advisory will be considered an asset
