Software Developer

Location : Malta, Hybrid
Basis : Full - Time

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to join our Technical Team. The chosen candidate will be responsible for researching and building micro services using the best programming languages and frameworks to fulfill the requirements while keeping performance in mind.

Responsibilities

•    Understand business and technical requirements for new or existing projects

•    Ability to design, develop and implement scalable, elastic micro-service based platforms

•    Keep oneself up to date with the latest technologies

•    Incite and lead team discussions and brainstorming sessions as required.

•    Mentor, guide, assist and share technical knowledge with team members as required

•    Team up in cross-functional teams working together to meet the defined objective/goal

Requirements

•    A University Degree in IT or related professional qualifications

•    Minimum of 4 years work experience in Microservices development

•    Proficiency in Java/J2EE development and experience with working on multiple Java frameworks or have a good knowledge of the different frameworks available

•    Experience with RDBMS databases (ex. Oracle SQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (ex. MongoDB, Scylla)

•    Experience in a banking / financial services company would be ideal but not a must

Plus Points

•    Experience with message brokers (especially Kafka)

•    Experience with Oracle PL/SQL

•    Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Ruby

•    Familiar with the Agile Methodology

•    Experience with CI/CD pipelines

•    Meticulous, methodical and accurate approach for the completion of tasks

•    Able to work well in a team

•    Strong organisational and time management skills, able to prioritize across different tasks to meet deadlines

•    Strong analytical and reasoning abilities

•    Good written and verbal communication skills
