Card Scheme Technical Developer

Location : Malta / Remote
Basis : Full- Time

The Card Scheme Technical Developer (CSTD) will form part of a team that gather and assimilate business requirements emanating from mandated changes from Card Schemes, RS2 and any other regulatory bodies, and implements them in a number of systems that are complementary to the company’s mainstream product.
The Compliance team is responsible for the dissemination of mandated information, and undertakes a comprehensive impact assessment on software systems developed by RS2.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists the team lead with development across all modules, related to interchange and Scheme Mandates
  • Makes sure that change instigated by Card Schemes and other Regulatory Bodies is detected and reacted to appropriately
  • Assists in automation and creation of the efficient processes, tools and configuration to make interchange related updates easy to maintain and test
  • Ensure that Compliance Releases achieve good quality as per standards set by the Quality Team
  • Liaise with stakeholders, especially clients to understand regional and domestic needs
  • Manage a central database of interchange rates
  • Be one of the internal reference points for Compliance Technical related expertise
  • Assists in distribution of compliance specifications, procedures, standards and related materials. Engage with all parts of the Project Management/Technical Unit areas to implement robust processes and procedures
  • Contributes to maintaining of an up-to-date knowledge base for compliance
  • Works closely with the rest of the compliance team in order to ensure that compliance releases meet the standards set by the quality department
  • Assists the team lead in defining compliance related development processes and ensuring that they are adhered to
  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Requirements

  • Be in possession of a degree in computing or a similar recognized qualification
  • Knowledge of the software development life-cycle processes
  • Experience in SQL and PL/SQL. Knowledge of databases like Oracle
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to be proactive, take initiative and work with commitment
  • Organisational and time management skills, prioritisation across different tasks, ability to meet deadlines, strong writing and communication skills in English
  • Knowledge/experience in payments industry will be considered an asset
