Mr El Haj will take on the position as Chief Executive Officer of RS2 in 2012, replacing Mr Mario Schembri who will take on the position as Chairman of the company.

During the event, Mr El Haj had the opportunity to discuss in private meetings the product functionalities and how BankWORKS can be adapted to suit the needs of the customer. Mr El Haj was accompanied by Ms Silvia Feng who is a Senior Manager in corporate communications at Edelman. Ms Feng was hired by RS2 in order to diminish the language barrier during this event.

China sees a tremendous growth in the payment industry due to the rapid development in its economy and an increase in the demand and expectations on payment products and services from the large number of internet and mobile users. It is predicted that e-payment transactions in China will exceed 2 trillion yuan by 2011. The improvement in payment regulatory environment and the fact that traditional businesses are now also operating in an electronic format, are two of the many components that are ushering the Chinese payment industry in an era of development and innovation.

The Pre-Paid card market is also developing in a rapid manner in China, where some organisations already obtained the license to start issuing Pre-Paid cards.

The country is also upgrading the entire payment infrastructure in order to be able to improve its banking services to their consumers and to be able to successfully compete in the international market.
